Your life matters. Your story matters. You matter.
You do not have to carry the weight of the world alone. In observance of National Suicide Prevention Awareness Month, the NDKC Guidance Office, in collaboration with the NDKC Peer Facilitators Club and the NDKC Association of Marist Psychology Students, spearheaded the Free Hug Campaign, a simple yet meaningful initiative rooted in love, kindness, and compassion.
Behind every embrace was a gentle reminder that everyone deserves to feel seen, heard, and valued. In a world where mental health struggles may often go unspoken, a simple gesture of compassion can help create a sense of connection and remind someone that they are not alone.
Throughout the month, the NDKC community also participated in a series of activities promoting mental health awareness, emotional well-being, and suicide prevention. These included the Room-to-Room Anti-Bullying Campaign, Small Group Sessions for IBED students, Parenting Seminar, Enrichment Sessions, and Thought Box.
As Maristas, let us continue building a caring and supportive community where empathy thrives, small acts of kindness create ripples of hope, and everyone feels safe to reach out when they need support. Let us check in on a friend, listen without judgment, and remember that asking for help is a sign of strength.
Tara, usap tayo. You are not alone. 💙💚
