NDKC Joins Capacity Enhancement Training on Safe and Legal Migration
Notre Dame of Kidapawan College (NDKC) participated in the Capacity Enhancement Training for Various Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) on Safe and Legal Migration, held on July 17, 2026, at Habi Hotel, Koronadal City.
The training was conducted by the Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) Regional Office XII to strengthen the awareness and capacity of higher education institutions in promoting safe, legal, and informed migration among participants and future workers.
Representing NDKC were Ronald A. Lim, LPT; Xyriel C. Tolentino, RPm; and Francis Arjane H. Panilawon, LPT, who participated in the discussions and learning sessions throughout the training.
The activity featured key presentations designed to equip HEI representatives with relevant knowledge and practical information that can be shared with students, particularly those considering overseas employment and migration opportunities.
Clark B. Briz, Chief Labor and Employment Officer of the Migrant Workers and Diaspora Policy and Services Division (MWDPSD), DMW-NCR, presented “Pre-Employment Orientation Seminar (PEOS): Promoting Safe and Legal Migration among HEIs.” His presentation emphasized the importance of providing participants with accurate and timely information on overseas employment opportunities, requirements, procedures, and precautions when seeking employment abroad.
Also featured was a presentation by Atty. Eric D. Dollete, Director III of the Migrant Workers Protection Bureau, on “Anti-Illegal Recruitment and Trafficking in Persons: Strengthening Awareness for Safe and Legal Migration.” The session highlighted the risks associated with illegal recruitment and trafficking in persons and underscored the shared responsibility of educational institutions in protecting prospective migrant workers through awareness, education, and proper guidance.
NDKC’s participation in the capacity enhancement training reinforces the institution’s continuing commitment to welfare, career guidance, and informed decision-making. Through continued collaboration with government agencies such as the DMW, Notre Dame of Kidapawan College remains committed to promoting safe, legal, and informed pathways for students and future professionals, while strengthening its role in preparing learners for opportunities both locally and internationally.
