Notre Dame of Kidapawan College participated in the 3rd Quarter Nationwide Simultaneous Earthquake Drill last September 2, 2023. This activity was in accordance with National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDDRMC) Memorandum No. 006, Series of 2023. The drill aimed to educate students on appropriate actions to take during an earthquake drill, thereby enhancing our community’s preparedness.

Students and personnel were instructed to vacate the classrooms and offices and proceed to the school grounds. This simulates leaving unsafe structures to avoid potential aftershocks or building damage. After the earthquake drill, Engr. Gutzer Jayson L. Alindao, NDKC Institutional Disaster Risk Reduction Management Coordinator provided additional inputs about the activity.
Conducting earthquake drills in school is essential to ensure the safety of students, teachers, and staff in the event of a real earthquake. These nationwide drills are crucial for ensuring that communities are well-prepared for earthquakes, which can save lives in the event of a real disaster.
