A Present for the Future: NDKC Alumni Unite for a Landmark Tree-Planting Homecoming

KIDAPAWAN CITY, NORTH COTABATO — The spirit of Marist stewardship came to life as Notre Dame of Kidapawan College (NDKC) successfully conducted its Grand Alumni Homecoming Tree-Planting Activity at Brgy. Junction, Kidapawan City. The activity brought together alumni, faculty, and students in a meaningful celebration of fellowship, environmental stewardship, and collective action.
🚗 From Reunion to Action
The day began at 7:00 a.m. at the NDKC campus, where faculty members, students, and alumni from various batches and school organizations gathered and reconnected. After the assembly, a convoy of school-provided vehicles and private cars departed for the designated tree-planting site.
🌱 Shoulder to Shoulder for Mother Earth
Upon arriving at Brgy. Junction, participants transitioned from fellowship to action. From 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., alumni, students, and faculty members worked together to prepare the area and plant tree seedlings.
The activity was marked by camaraderie, shared stories, and a strong sense of purpose as members of the NDKC community came together to express their commitment to caring for the environment. More than a homecoming celebration, the activity provided an opportunity for alumni to reconnect with their alma mater while contributing to a meaningful environmental initiative.

The successful tree-planting activity represents a lasting contribution to environmental sustainability and a meaningful legacy for future generations. The newly planted trees are expected to contribute to greener surroundings, support biodiversity, and promote greater awareness of environmental responsibility within the community.
The initiative supports the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 13: Climate Action, SDG 15: Life on Land, and SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals, through collective efforts toward environmental protection and community engagement.
