Grade 11 Students Empowered with Life-Saving Skills in CPR Lecture-Demonstration

As part of the National CPR Day 2025 celebration, the Philippine Red Cross North Cotabato–Kidapawan City Chapter conducted a CPR Lecture-Demonstration for Grade 11 students on August 20, 2025, highlighting its mission of building a CPR-ready Philippines.

The lecture emphasized the importance of hands-only CPR, a critical skill in responding to emergencies such as cardiac arrest and sudden collapse. Through the guidance of Red Cross volunteers, the students learned proper techniques in administering chest compressions, enabling them to understand how immediate intervention can save lives.

Another feature of the activity was the creation of DIY mannequins by the students, which served as practice tools for applying CPR. This hands-on experience not only strengthened their practical skills but also boosted their confidence in handling real-life situations

The event underscored the value of health preparedness and community resilience, equipping the youth with the knowledge and skills to act during emergencies. With their newfound learning, the Grade 11 students are now more capable of becoming first responders in their own homes, schools, and communities.

The celebration of National CPR Day serves as a reminder that saving lives starts with readiness—and that even students can make a difference when equipped with the right knowledge and skills.
